4 Grain Burger

Whole grains are always a healthier option than the oil soaked potato patty. This 4 grain burger has sour cream and spicy salsa as accompaniments. The crisp lettuce renders a beautiful bite for the burger.

Ingredients
  • 1/4 cup Black gram chana or kala
  • 1/4 cup lobia black eyed peas raungi or or
  • 1/4 cup Rajma red kidney beans or
  • 1/4 cup Chickpeas Chole or
  • 1/4 cup veggies Grated of your choice
  • 1/2 cup bread crubmled multigrain or whole
  • to taste Salt
  • to taste Pepper
  • 1 onion medium size cut fine
  • 2 green chillies cut fine
  • Oil as needed
  • Lettuce leaves - washed and pat dry
  • 1/2 cup Hung curd
  • to taste Lemon juice
  • 1 cucumber cut in small pieces
  • 2 tomatoes seeds medium cut in small pieces - discard the
  • 2 tsps chilly Red flakes
  • 2 tsps Oregano
  • Good quality non stick pan
  • Brown bread burger buns

  • Lettuce leaves - washed and pat dry
  • 1/2 cup Hung curd
  • to taste Lemon juice
  • 1 cucumber cut in small pieces
  • 2 tomatoes seeds medium cut in small pieces - discard the
  • 2 tsps chilly Red flakes
  • 2 tsps Oregano
  • Good quality non stick pan
  • Brown bread burger buns
Instructions
  1. Soak the grams over night and pressure cook until they are mashable.
  2. Mash some of them fine and keep some chunky.
  3. In a pan, put 1 tsp oil and roast the onions and green chillies. Now add the mashed beans mix to it. Season with Salt and pepper.
  4. Once they mix well, add the grated veggies, bread crumbs and season suitably.
  5. Make burger patty and shallow fry them in very less oil.
  6. In the hung curd, add some lemon juice and salt to taste to make sour cream.
  7. In another pan, put 1 tsp oil add the tomatoes, oregano, salt and red chilly flakes. Once the tomatoes are soft, turn off the flame and add the cucumbers. Salsa is ready.
  8. To assemble: Cut the buns in half and toast the inside. Smear sour cream on the bottom half. Place lettuce leaf on top of it. Now put the patty. Add some salsa on top and place the burger top on it.
  9. Alternatively you can make two thin patty for the burger and alternate with sour cream and salsa.
